15 Times Nick Jonas and Demi Lovato's Friendship Gave Us All the Feels

WHEN THEY SHARED THEIR FRIENDSHIP JOURNEY …
In their new Billboard cover interview, the two got more honest than ever about their friendship – including the darker days, when Lovato parted ways with Jonas after she had a scuffle with her dancer during the 2010 Jonas Tour, on which she was also performing. "I distanced myself as I was getting involved with self-destructive things," she admitted. While it was clear Lovato desperately needed to seek help, Jonas was fuming, fearful that the band would be sued. "I mean, it was bad," he explained. "On top of losing a friend, we have seven dates left, it's a big production, people are expecting to see Demi and that's not going to happen."

… AND THEN REASSURED US THAT THEY'RE STRONGER THAN EVER
The two were eventually able to reconcile, but it took time for the wounds to heal. "After treatment, I had to have some time sober before I wasn't embarrassed to talk to him," Lovato revealed. "The first time we saw each other since that tour was my [2012 Los Angeles] concert at the Greek [Theatre]. We caught up right before the show, then performed. It was an emotional reunion – I got one of my best friends back." Plus, when sharing their Billboard cover on Instagram, she wrote, "Almost 10 years of Unbreakable friendship. I'm so grateful for you @nickjonas. Thank you for always being there for me. Love you and I'm proud of the man you've become!!"

WHEN LOVATO BASICALLY CALLED JONAS HER ROCK
Lovato has come a long way since facing her struggles with addiction, body dysmorphia and bipolar disorder. Today she's happier and healthier with a solid support system that includes Jonas. "We've grown up together, and Nick is somebody that I can rely on, whether it's in the middle of the night or the middle of the day – he's consistently been there for me," she told PEOPLE.

WHEN JONAS WAS PROUD OF HOW FAR THEY'VE COME
These longtime pals started on Disney and pretty much became the people they are now as a team. "We've all grown up quite a bit, and we're kind of adults now," Jonas told PEOPLE. "Things that were dramatic in your teens are less dramatic as you get older. That doesn't mean there aren't complicated moments, but we're in a good place and wish the best for each other." He also gave a shout-out to Lovato and the rest of the original gang: "Our 'graduating class' – my brothers and I, Demi, Selena and Miley – is kind of unique, where everyone is still doing their things."

WHEN THEY CELEBRATED A DECADE OF FRIENDSHIP
While driving around for a session of Carpool Karaoke with James Corden, Jonas happily asserted that "We're actually celebrating our 10th year of friendship this year." The two proceeded to fist bump, and hearts exploded around the world.

AND SHE TEASED HIM ABOUT HIS DATING LIFE
When Corden asked Jonas about dating "seemingly everyone," Lovato helpfully interjected with some clarification that he was dating Miley … and then back with Selena … and then back with Miley. When he denied it she called him out for his lies (specifically calling him Liza Minnelli).

BUT SHE STILL COULDN'T BEAR TO HEAR ABOUT HIS SEX LIFE
After listening to Jonas' hit "Chains," Corden asked him if he'd ever been tied up. Jonas surprisingly replied yes, which caused Lovato to laugh out loud then cover her ears and add, "I don't want to hear that!" Because they are basically brother and sister and it's too cute.

WHEN THEY GAVE BACK TO THEIR FANS IN THE HOSPITAL
In March, the singers surprised kids and their parents at Children's Hospital Los Angeles, joining forces to serenade the children with their infectious melodies. With his guitar in hand, Jonas accompanied Lovato for an acoustic rendition of her hit "Confident." Lovato returned the favor, harmonizing with Jonas and clapping along as he performed "Jealous." Then the pals bonded with the group while signing autographs and taking smiley snaps. The visit was to raise awareness for the #MakeMarchMatter fundraising campaign, which seeks to raise more than $1 million, Children's Hospital Los Angeles said in a statement.

In perfect harmony, they sing, "I got pride you can't hold your breath / We'll crash down like an avalanche / Look out now, don't take one more step / We'll crash down like an avalanche, avalanche."

AND EVENTUALLY CANCELED THEIR NORTH CAROLINA PERFORMANCE
Lovato and Jonas’ tour was set to take North Carolina, but they canceled the show as a stance against the controversial "bathroom bill" which banned transgender people from using government building bathrooms in accordance with their gender identities.
