Looks like Feb. 14 is shaping up to be one sweet day for Mariah Carey!

During a recent visit to New York, her husband Nick Cannon got a jumpstart on his Valentine’s Day shopping, stopping by the Renaissance Hotel’s “Sweetest Suite,” where he picked up some edible gifts for the two to enjoy together. The room was packed with more than 300 lbs. of treats provided by Dylan’s Candy Bar, and Cannon indulged dipping pretzel sticks into a white chocolate fountain.

While there, Cannon also stocked up on giant Rice Krispie treats, gummi worms, Runts, and Now and Laters, which he told people he was planning to take home to Mariah.

• Opposites really do attract – well, when it comes to chocolate anyway. Eva Longoria Parker and husband Tony Parker always divide their chocolate boxes – dark for her, and classic milk for him. While helping Godiva unveil their limited edition Valentine’s Day chocolates – in partnership with the Elton John AIDS Foundation – recently, the Desperate Housewives star loaded up on sweets to enjoy with her husband. Her shopping list included Godiva’s hot chocolate mix, dark chocolate gems, chocolate-covered pretzels and dark chocolate truffles.

• Forget the candy! When stars like George Clooney and Reese Witherspoon visit their favorite Rande Gerber-owned bar on Feb. 14 – including L.A. hot spot the Stone Rose – they’ll be treated to a specialty cocktail created for the holiday: A pink pomegranate martini. The festive drink combines Gerber’s special “Midnight Bar Collection” Pomegranate mixer with vodka.

Want to make it yourself? Here’s the recipe:

  • 2 parts Midnight Bar Collection Pomegranate mixer
  • 1 part vodka

Shake. Serve it chilled – either straight up or on the rocks.
