Is a new Hollywood romance brewing in the cozy pubs of England?

Nicholas Hoult and Dianna Agron have been spending time together in a decidedly low-key way lately, hitting up local watering holes in London rather than glitzy nightclubs.

The actors have been to The Black Lion in Hammersmith and The Gallery in West Hampstead, according to local reports, with the Sun saying they engaged in a little PDA at the latter establishment.

A Gallery employee confirmed to PEOPLE that the couple did stop by last Friday.

“They came in with each other and ordered some drinks. They sat down and had a conversation just like everyone else,” the staffer said. “They seemed like they had a nice time, but we didn’t see them kissing. But then, we were working, so we weren’t really looking.”

The employee added: “It was definitely them. Both of them are very beautiful, so it’s difficult to miss them. They weren’t flirting or kissing or anything. It wasn’t like they were a couple. Maybe they were just getting to know each other.”

And the pair were spotted at a pub quiz in Maida Vale, London, the day before, another source tells PEOPLE. They arrived separately, but sat together with a group of friends. Though they sat side-by-side, they kept the PDA to a minimum, the source says.

The X-Men actor, 25, who will star in the upcoming Mad Max: Fury Road, split from Oscar winner Jennifer Lawrence last summer.

Agron, 28, best known for her role on Glee, is in London rehearsing for her West End debut next month in the James Phillips play McQueen.
