Less than five months after tying the knot, Criminal Minds star Nicholas Brendon and wife Moonda Tee are calling it quits.

“I am officially announcing that Nicholas and his wife, Moonda Tee, have parted ways,” a rep for the actor wrote in a statement posted to the actor’s Facebook page Thursday. “Nicholas expressed that Moonda is truly a ‘beautiful person’ and that he ‘wishes her the best that life has to offer.’ ”

“We know that there will be rumors and gossip, but we ask that Nick’s privacy be respected during this difficult time,” the statement continued. “Things like this are never easy.”

“Every experience we have builds who we become,” the statement also said.

Tee also seemingly confirmed the split on her Facebook page earlier in the month, when someone asked whether the duo indeed separated.

“It seems to be true. He couldn’t see just what an amazing thing he had in a girl like me,” she wrote.

Brendon, 43, popped the question just one week before the duo wed in Las Vegas on Oct. 1, according to his Twitter page.

“AND WERE MARRIED!!! ##tildeathdouspart,” he Tweeted along with a photo of the newly married couple standing beneath the famed “Welcome to Fabulous Las Vegas” sign.

But ’til death apparently only equated to a few months.

News of the split caps off a difficult few months for the former Buffy the Vampire Slayer star, who was arrested in Boise, Idaho, less than three weeks after the wedding and charged with malicious injury to property and resisting or obstructing officers.

Two days later, Brendon, who appeared disheveled and red-eyed in his mug shot, issued an apology for the incident, explaining he regrettably mixed alcohol and prescription drugs he received for a cyst behind his knee cap.

The actor also said he was seeking treatment for “medical ailments” and “emotional demons.” In 2004, the actor spent time in a rehab clinic for alcohol abuse.

On Friday, a member of Brendon’s team shared a photo on the actor’s Facebook page, showing him striking the “thinking man” pose next to a hotel pool in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. He is in town for Shock Pop Comic Con.

This was a second marriage for Brendon, who was previously married to actress Tressa DiFiglia from 2001 to 2006.
