On schedule, six weeks after giving birth to a daughter, Elisabeth Hasselbeck, 27, was back to work Wednesday as a co-host on The View.

“Grace is amazing. She likes to eat a lot and sleep a lot – just like her father,” the proud mother said on the air about her daughter, whose full name is Grace Elisabeth Hasselbeck.

On April 6, the TV personality and her husband, NFL New York Giants quarterback Tim Hasselbeck, announced the birth of Grace – their first child – who weighed 7 lbs. 8 oz. The next day, the new mom revealed the baby’s name during a phone call to her co-hosts on the ABC daytime show.

The baby also shares the same birthday as her father.

Hasselbeck, 27, won an on-air audition in 2003 to replace Lisa Ling on the daytime chat fest. The artist and accessories designer, who reads the Bible daily and says she’s “always two minutes late on a joke,” rose to prominence after going through “living hell” – as she told PEOPLE – to finish fourth on Survivor: The Australian Outback in 2001.

She then honed her on-air skills as host of the Style Network’s The Look for Less, and her View-mate Star Jones Reynolds has said of her, “She’s a smart girl.”
