She was cheering him on from the stands during the team's victorious season opener Thursday
When Rob Gronkowski, the New England Patriots’ resident party boy and star tight end (and amateur twerker), helped lead the team to a victorious 28-21 season opener Thursday, girlfriend Camille Kostek was in the stands cheering him on, a source tells PEOPLE.
Kostek, a 23-year-old former Patriots cheerleader and current lifestyle ambassador for Benrus, was one of the 160 dancers who participated in an on-field pregame performance in the pouring rain.
She watched the first half of the game with friends in the stands, and then headed to a club suite to watch the second half with some of Gronkowski’s family.
After Gronkowski, 26, scored his first of three touchdowns, Kostek Tweeted, “First touchdown of the season #herewego #87.”
Gronkowski and Kostek also spent part of Labor Day weekend together, including dinner at Papa Razzi in Boston, Massachusetts, where she posted a sweet image of her sitting on his lap.
She captioned the photo, “Friday night date night,” with a rose emoji.
The pair, who have been together for several months, seem to be a great match, a friend tells PEOPLE.
“You can tell they really enjoy being with each other,” she says. “They both have a great sense of humor and feed off each other really well.”
But there’s more than just chemistry between them, the friend says: “They both love to be active and play sports together.”
“And yes,” she adds, “they both love to dance.”
