The death toll is currently sitting above 4,000

Reports continue to come in following the aftermath of the 7.8-magnitude earthquake that struck Nepal Saturday. As of noon, EST, the death toll was above 4,000, and reconstruction costs are estimated to be in the billions.

The videos in this post were shot by Kishor Rana, and show drone footage of the damage done to Kathmandu, including to historic Durbar Square.

Monday, Secretary of State John Kerry announced an additional $9 million in U.S. aid to Nepal, on top of the $1 million promised Saturday.

Acting deputy State Department spokesman Jeff Rathke said Monday that four U.S. citizens were among those killed in Saturday’s earthquake – all in the Mount Everest region.
