On Thursday, Nathan Sykes announced he’s teaming up with rapper and producer G-Eazy on his upcoming song “Give It Up.” “I think it’s a bit unexpected for me to have a rapper feature on one of my tracks, but I love surprising people and G-Eazy is smashing it right now,” the singer, 22, tells PEOPLE exclusively about the collaboration. Sykes is currently touring in the U.K. with girl group Little Mix, and has given his fans a peek at the song. “I’ve been performing an acoustic version on tour … that has had a great reaction, but I can’t wait for people to hear the studio version,” he adds. In 2015, Sykes performed his first solo show in the U.S. and his hit “Over and Over Again” featuring Ariana Grande hit No. 1 on Billboard‘s Dance Club Songs chart. “I’m going through a complete new reintroduction to me as an artist, so I think people have been quite surprised by what they’re hearing,” he told PEOPLE at the time.
