The former heavyweight champ has returned home after receiving follow-up care for a urinary tract infection

Muhammad Ali will be able to celebrate his 73rd birthday at home with his family.

The champ was released from the hospital Friday after receiving follow-up care for a severe urinary tract infection, according to a statement released to PEOPLE.

Ali plans to celebrate his birthday with his loved ones on Saturday,”[cheering] on the University of Louisville Cardinals Basketball team in their game against the Duke University Blue Devils,” the statement says.

“The Ali family greatly appreciates the outpouring of support and continued well wishes,” the statement continues.

The former heavyweight champ also suffers from Parkinson’s disease.
