Charlie’s Angels, move over. Variety reports this morning that producer Stephen J. Cannell’s 1983-87 hit NBC series “The ‘A’ Team” will be developed by Fox 2000 (a division of 20th Century Fox) into a widescreen, live action movie. The original series focused on four elite Army commandos who survived Vietnam and came back to America to handle covert operations for cash. The new feature is expected to have a younger cast than the original. Meanwhile, over in the bat cave, Warner Bros. (a Time Warner company, like PEOPLE) has announced it is developing a live-action adaptation of the animated series “Batman Beyond,” which first surfaced last year on the WB Kids Network. Unlike the previous “Batman” movies, “Batman Beyond” is set 40 years in the future, and Batman is no longer Bruce Wayne. He is Terry McGinnis, a Gotham high school student who must battle the evil corporate forces who killed his father and now run what was once the Wayne empire.
