Motley Crue bassist Nikki Sixx won’t be prosecuted for allegedly making crowd-riling remarks during a summer concert in Las Vegas. Sixx was arrested after the group’s Aug. 11 show at Mandalay Bay and charged with provoking a breach of the peace (a misdemeanor). A videotape of the concert reviewed by prosecutors showed Sixx telling the crowd of 8,000: “Every time we come to town, the (expletive) cops tell us we can’t be Motley Crue. If they don’t like it, we can start flipping over cop cars like we did a couple of years ago.” District Attorney Stewart Bell said Tuesday that while Sixx’s statement may have been offensive to some, it was protected by the First Amendment.
