Miley Cyrus Brings Bangerz Tour to London After Hospitalization
The "We Can't Stop" singer resumed her tour after suffering a severe allergic reaction and postponing her U.S. dates
Cyrus, 21, brought her Bangerz tour to London’s O2 arena on Tuesday night. The pop star wore a Union Jack leotard (An ode to Ginger Spice, perhaps?) and encouraged concertgoers to join in on the raunchy revelry, including her usual twerking and tongue wagging.
“She got loads of people of the same sex to snog in the audience and put them on camera on a giant screen and made a speech about how we should all just ‘be ourselves,'” one source told the Daily Mail. “She said she ‘hopes we are all drunk and on loads of pills.'”
The show marked Cyrus’s return to the stage after suffering a severe allergic reaction to antibiotics. The trouble began April 15, when she was rushed to the hospital after receiving medication for the flu. The illness left Cyrus bedridden and forced her to postpone the remainder of her U.S. tour dates.
After Tweeting her excitement all week long, Cyrus commemorated her comeback with an Instagram.
“but first . #letmetakeaselfie #bangerztourselfie,” she captioned the photo, which shows her infamous tongue and the packed arena.
Speaking to the press early Tuesday, Cyrus denied rumors that she overdosed on recreational drugs. But during her performance later that night, she made no secret of her marijuana habits, adding shades shaped like pot leaves to her ensemble, the Daily Mail reports.
Cyrus also nearly suffered a wardrobe malfunction: A stylist was spotted sneaking behind her and adjusting her low-cut, yellow bedazzled leotard. Despite the mishap, the “Adore You” singer certainly won England’s adoration – including that of one very high-profile admirer.
Lily Allen appears to have ridden a motorbike to O2 straight from the airport after attending the Met Gala in New York. The recording artist Tweeted her journey to Cyrus’s show, giving it a rave review afterward.
“That was basically the best thing I’ve ever seen,” she posted.
