Mike Wallace finally saw “The Insider,” in which Christopher Plummer portrays him — and not always in the most flatteringly light. The movie tells the story of the behind-the-scenes struggle at “60 Minutes” to bring the Jeffrey Wigand tobacco story to CBS. “The film is getting what it deserves — a decent burial,” Wallace told New York’s Daily News. The movie, despite critical raves and a knockout performance by Al Pacino as former “60 Minutes” producer Lowell Bergman, has so far made only $14 million at the box office since it opened two weeks ago.
