“It was the night before Christmas, and all through the house, not a creature was stirring, except for Sunny and Bo.”

Well, that’s not exactly how the classic Christmas tale goes, but we wouldn’t mind a situational update in this case.

First Lady Michelle Obama took part in a reading of “The Night Before Christmas” at the Children’s National Medical Center in Washington, D.C., on Dec. 16.

We mention Sunny and Bo because they joined the Mrs. Obama (along with Santa), resting at her feet as she read enthusiastically to the kids.

“Merry Christmas to all, and to all a good night,” the First Lady says, before adding, “That means you’re supposed to go bed on Christmas Eve,” a line that earned laughs from the parents in the crowd. ” ‘Go to bed.’ That’s the message from Santa, right, parents?”
