First Lady Michelle Obama is issuing an official warning to the residents of Washington D.C.

On Monday, during a special appearance on Live! With Kelly and Michael for the White House Easter Roll, Obama joked with hosts Kelly Ripa and Michael Strahan about her newly licensed daughter, Malia, saying, “Look out D.C.”

FLOTUS confirmed that her 16-year-old daughter does, in fact, get to drive outside of the White House. Under one condition, of course. “She always has security around. But in order for her to learn how to drive, she had to drive on her own,” Obama said.

Obama admitted that she and President Barack Obama‘s daughters are definitely your typical sarcastic teenage girls. However, the first lady knows how to deal with teen ‘tude.

“When they get a little snarky, I’m like, ‘Oh, you sound like your dad,’ ” Obama joked.

She also joked about Malia and Sasha, 14, being featured in Time magazine’s 25 Most Influential Teens of 2014.

“I don’t know why [they’re on the list] – they’re not influential, they just live here,” she said. “They have done nothing to gain any influence.”

In fact, Obama seemed confident that they are still unaware of their new influential title. “I don’t think they even realize that they’re influential,” she said. “I don’t think anybody showed them that article, so don’t mention it!”

Amongst all the jokes, the proud mother could not help but gush about her girls’ work ethic. The young ladies are not only responsible, but are “pretty self-motivated.”

“We’ve always had rules no screen time during the week, no phones. Now that Malia is older she is pretty much independent because I want her to be prepared for college when I’m not there,” Obama said.
