Michael's Accuser Dissed

A Los Angeles federal judge has dismissed a $10 million slander lawsuit filed against George Michael by the undercover policeman who arrested the pop star in a Beverly Hills park bathroom. Marcelo Rodriguez went to court last September over the irreverent pop video “Outside,” which Michael released shortly after his April 1998 arrest for lewd behavior. Rodriguez maintained that his depiction in the video caused him mental and emotional distress, humiliation and the need for medical treatment. This week the judge told Rodriguez’s lawyer to refile the lawsuit by Feb. 22, if he can provide additional support for his client’s claims. When asked if the lawsuit would be refiled, Thomas told the Associated Press, “Most definitely.”
