Michael Jordan may have been the epitome of confidence on the basketball court, but when it comes to the links, “I’m nervous, man,” Jordan whispered before teeing off on Wednesday at the LaSalle Banks Chicago Open. Jordan entered the $150,000 tournament as an amateur, stirring speculation that he might be ready to enter another pro sport. He was quick to admit he’s not ready for big-time golf. And he proved it, too: shooting a first-round 84 — 13 strokes over par. “I’m pretty sure I’m out of my league, but it was fun,” Jordan told the Associated Press. “What I take away from it is that you have to maintain a certain focus.”
