Michael Douglas and Catherine Zeta-Jones certainly looked like a happily married couple when they were spotted dining together earlier this week at NYY Steak in Manhattan.

The pair – who took a break to work on and evaluate their marriage in August, but have been taking steps toward reconciling – were seen holding hands as they arrived for a dinner meeting with a business associate on Tuesday.

Douglas, 69, introduced Zeta-Jones, 44, as his wife, a source tells PEOPLE, and he was overheard chatting about his upcoming movie projects and said that he was excited about his future.

“He seemed in really good spirits,” the source says. “They were both smiling and seemed very happy.”

The trio sipped wine and dined on a seafood platter and dry-aged steaks – including the restaurant’s signature steak bacon – in a private vault room.

Reps for the couple have declined to comment on whether they are back together.
