Celebrity Miami Rocks with Designer's Opening By Stephen M. Silverman Published on March 8, 2002 12:21 PM Share Tweet Pin Email The famed French fashion house of Louis Vuitton, founded in 1854, celebrated the opening of its first Southeast Global Store in Miami’s Bal Harbor Shops on Wednesday, reports PEOPLE. Former “Law & Order” star Angie Harmon, 29, arrived with her husband, New York Giants cornerback Jason Sehorn, 30. Harmon, who wed Sehorn last June, told PEOPLE, “We just moved into our new house, and it’s very exciting.” She declined to give the location of the dwelling. Meanwhile, former “NYPD Blue” star David Caruso, 46, is now calling Miami home and trying his own hand at designing. He has opened a clothing boutique called “Steam On Sunset” in South Miami, featuring stylish duds for both men and women as well as “functional art.” Another fashion designer in the house, Kimora Lee Simmons, may be the brains behind urban line Phat Farm, but she cooed over the Louis Vuitton bags. “They are all gorgeous!” she exclaimed. Simmons also told PEOPLE she is pregnant. Throwing her hands in the air, she said, “My baby — surprise!” “Dressed in a short skirt and halter top, Simmons, whose husband is hip hop mogul Russell Simmons, proclaimed, “You can still be fashionable and pregnant.” After the opening, 1,800 guests poured into the after-party in the trendy Miami Design District. After walking through a replica of 19th century French gardens, guests stepped into a Parisian-style disco, where Harmon and Sehorn mingled with guests sipping apple martinis. And just in case anybody forgot who was throwing the party, the chocolate-covered strawberries on the dessert table were embossed with the LV logo.
