Even on a night like Halloween, there’s nothing scarier than traffic. Especially when the traffic cones are alive.

Police in Kingston in the U.K. were summoned to an unusual sight in the wee hours of Halloween morning: A group of men, dressed as traffic cones, were blocking the street like, well, traffic cones.

There doesn’t appear to be any deeper meaning to the stunt, just a semi-innocent bit of Halloween mischief. “They were just standing in front of the taxi and the bus not letting them get past and taking pictures of themselves,” witness Dan Theochari, who snapped a picture of the group, told the London Evening Standard.

Kingston police took a relatively lenient stance on the men, though they still weren’t exactly keen on the stunt. “We are human beings, and we do find things amusing,” a spokesperson for the Kingston police told BuzzFeed News.

“Obviously, they were standing in the middle of the road, and there’s a dangerous side to it.”

The whereabouts of the men are currently unknown: It’s entirely possible, probably, that they turned back into regular traffic cones when the sun came up.
