Mel B Uses Hypnosis for Stage Nerves
"I was getting a bit nervous" prepping for topless Vegas show, she says
Former Spice Girl Mel B isn’t the shy type, but she admits she’s had to explore unique methods to prep for her upcoming burlesque-style Vegas show.
“My friend hypnotized me before I started rehearsals to have a real open mind,” the singer told PEOPLE of her topless production, PEEPSHOW, which opens April 18th at Planet Hollywood Resort and Casino.
“I was getting a bit nervous. My anxiety was getting to me. I was hypnotized to calm me down and it worked.”
Brown, 34, will be scantily clad in the show but not topless – the same goes for her former Dancing with the Stars alumnus Kelly Monaco, who costars with Brown. But the showgirls surrounding the two stars will be bare from the waist up.
“It’s just a really sexy, hot show,” she said. “I’m surrounded by sexy women and everyone feels sexy in the show.”
Her husband loves it, she says – “He’s a big fan” – but her children ages 2 and 10 aren’t ready to see this side of mommy onstage.
“They haven’t seen the show and they’re not going to,” said the entertainer, “they’re not old enough!”
