McCartney Web Chat Due

Paul McCartney will take to the Internet next week for a live chat session with fans. The former Beatle wants to talk about his wife, Linda, who died from breast cancer in April, but no topic is banned, McCartney spokesman Geoff Baker said. McCartney, not exactly an Internet buff, is “very excited, but a bit nervous,” Baker said. He chose the format over several TV offers because he wants to go “direct to the fans” without the filter of an interviewer. The hour-long chat session on Dec. 17 will include the premiere screening of music videos of some of Linda’s songs and new photographs. The session can accessed at http://webevents.broadcast.com/mccartney.

  • Speaking of mature rockers, Rod Stewart’s Dec. 12 concert in London will be broadcast live on the Net. The sites for the show are http://www.LiveConcerts.com and http://www.RodStewartLive.com.
