Matt Damon had an unlikely person to thank for making his birthday so special: Donald Trump.

On Saturday afternoon, Damon celebrated his 46th birthday at the 2016 New York Comic-Con at Madison Square Garden in New York City. He was there to promote his latest film, The Great Wall, and he shared a funny birthday message he received from his dad during the cast panel at the event.

“My birthday present to you is that in exactly one month, we can kiss Trump goodbye,” Damon said, reading the text. “If he did get elected, Mexico would have to put up that wall to keep him out!”

One day before Damon’s birthday, a video of Trump sharing lewd comments about women with then-Access Hollywood cohost Billy Bush in 2005 went viral.

This is not the first time Damon has spoken out about his concerns when it comes to the upcoming election. In an interview with Peter Travers in July, Damon talked about the Republican presidential candidate.

“As an American and one who goes abroad … every customs agent around the world, when they see your passport, they ask about Trump,” Damon he said. “They go, ‘Is that real?’ They are kind of bewildered by the entire thing. I have to admit I am too.”

“It makes me nervous,” he said. “It’s a binary choice…. There’s no way we can let this guy be the [president]. To let that dude have the nuclear football, are you kidding me? That’s dangerous. He’s impulsive and rash, and doesn’t seem to think deeply about too many things.”
