Jennifer Sullivan walked down the aisle arm-in-wing with her second love: Sebastian the Ibis.
When the Florida bride lost her father unexpectedly six months before her wedding, Sullivan knew she wanted to fill her father’s role in the nuptials with someone special.
“I knew that I would be thinking about him the entire time,” Sullivan told WSVN7 News. “I knew I needed to do something really special to take my mind off of it, and make the moment as lighthearted as possible.”
A hardcore University of Miami fan who once worked in the school’s athletic department, Sullivan chose the school’s feathered mascot for the honor. Sebastian wore his usual Hurricanes jersey to the ceremony with “Big Walt,” a nickname for Sullivan’s father, printed on the back.
After her husband, Sullivan says Sebastian is her greatest love, so he was the perfect “man” to give her away. The Internet agrees.
