Mark Wahlberg puts his family first — even during the Super Bowl.
The Patriots superfan, 45, attended the game with his wife, Reah Durham, and their two sons, Michael and Brendan, on Sunday. And while the family was seen dressed in matching jerseys and standing on the field before kickoff, they had to leave the history-making game earlier than planned.
“I had to leave the game early because my youngest son wasn’t feeling well,” Wahlberg posted on Instagram alongside a photo of his family standing on the field. “Trust me, I would have loved to be at the stadium – but family first. Doesn’t mean I don’t love my Patriots too!”
But before his departure, the actor posted several photos gearing up for the big game.
“Big day with my little guys,” he captioned a shot of himself with his sons.
Once on the field, Wahlberg snapped a sweet selfie with his “better half.”
After trailing behind in the first half, the Patriots defeated the Atlanta Flacons 34 to 28 in an epic comeback leading to the team’s fifth title win. It was the first time a Super Bowl game has gone into overtime.
And while he had to leave early, Wahlberg still celebrated the win with his family back home.
“What a game!” he wrote.
The actor also wasted no time playfully “consoling” a few of his famous friends who were rooting for the opposing team.
“Sorry buddy,” he captioned a shot of himself FaceTiming with Ludacris.
