Mariah Carey Feels 'Lucky' to Be Dating Billionaire Boyfriend James Packer, Reveals How They First Met

Mariah Carey is gushing about her romance with billionaire boyfriend James Packer.

The pop diva detailed her first meeting with the Australian businessman during an appearance on The Steve Harvey Show Wednesday.

“We first met in Aspen,” Carey, 45, told host Steve Harvey. “A couple years ago we were at the Hercules premiere. We were talking and laughing and people were getting mad at us and stuff like that. So we hit it off.”

The comedian quipped, “Ain’t he lucky,” before Mimi responded with a beaming smile.

“I’m lucky too,” she said blushing. “He really is [great].”

In September, Carey and Packer, 48, made their red carpet debut since dating for a few months starting in June.

And it appears Christmas came a little early for the mother of two. Harvey couldn’t help but notice the Van Cleefs & Arpels diamond sparkler around her neck, which was a gift from Packer.

“Oh, this old thing?” she mused. “[It was] a very, very big surprise, very nice.”

Ex-husband Nick Cannon filed for divorce from Carey in 2014, while Packer split from wife Erica Baxter – who’s now dating singer Seal – in 2013
