Mariah Carey and boyfriend billionaire James Packer were hand-in-hand at the grand opening of his new Studio City resort in Macau, China on Tuesday. Carey, 45, and Packer, 48, celebrated the launch of the $3.2 billion Hollywood-themed casino resort together, less than one month after making their red carpet debut as a couple at The Intern premiere in New York City. The singer stunned in a plunging black gown to color coordinate with the Australian businessman’s formal tuxedo. While the mother of two gave a glamorous performance of her hit song “Hero” to commemorate the opening ceremony, it was another star-studded event that is getting much buzz. Hollywood was in full force as Martin Scorsese, Robert De Niro and Leonardo DiCaprio gathered at the 1600-room complex to premiere the 15-minute short film The Audition. The trio of high-wattage actors star as themselves in a battle to win a part in Scorsese’s next (fake) film. Terrence Winter, screenwriter of Scorsese and DiCaprio’s The Wolf of Wall Street, wrote the script for The Audition, which was produced by Brett Ratner’s RatPac Entertainment. Packer – who serves as the other half of RatPac Entertainment – organized the rare get-together of Scorsese, De Niro and DiCaprio, reportedly shelling out $70 million to create the short film specifically to publicize Studio City. The Audition also features a brief cameo from Brad Pitt. Another celebrity will soon be coming to Studio City. Madonna has two scheduled stops of her Rebel Heart Tour on Feb. 20 and 21.
