On Tuesday night Mariah Carey checked out of the exclusive medical clinic where she was being treated after her publicist said she had suffered “an emotional and physical breakdown.” “She’s felling much better and is recovering under a doctor’s care at an undisclosed location with her mother,” Cindi Berger was quoted as saying by New York TV station WNBC on Wednesday morning. On July 25, the pop diva, 31, reportedly accompanied by her mother, Patricia Carey, checked herself into the facility after some instances of bizarre behavior on MTV and at a personal appearance. On Monday of this week, the Aug. 31 release of Carey’s upcoming movie, “Glitter,” was delayed three weeks by 20th Century Fox executives, who gave no reason for their decision. Industry observers are saying that it had to do with the state of Carey’s health. Her hospitalization brought an abrupt halt to her promotion of the film, which is a rags-to-riches tale of a singer in the mold of “A Star is Born.” Carey is also one of the producers of the film, which is now set to premiere Sept. 21.
