Joseph Amorese’s get-well card turned into a get-rich story for the Pennsylvania native.

Amorese won $7 million from a scratch-off lottery ticket included in a get well card from his father, reports ABC News.

The newly crowned “Greatest Dad Ever” gave his son the note with the winning Golden Ticket scratch card inside as a post-surgery pick-me-up, but he never expected his well wishes to be this generous.

“I scratched the ticket, and it was a good thing I was already sitting down, because I was shocked. I was and still am in complete disbelief,” Amorese, 46, said.

Understandably, the first thing the recovering Verizon employee did was call his father in Congers, New York, to share the unbelievable news. After confirming with his dad that this It Could Happen to You scenario was real, Amorese delivered the good news to his wife.

“I said, ‘Honey, I think we won $7,000,000.’ And there was silence on the other end for a long time. She was too stunned to talk.”

Amorese’s father said he purchased the ticket at Just a Dollar in New City, New York, but did not comment on whether his son is planning on splitting the money.

“I just wish him the very, very best, and I’m happy for him,” he said.
