“My wife wanted to make sure that someone took a picture of the expression on our faces when our daughter was born today,” Gil Solano, of Denver, Colorado, wrote on Imgur earlier in the week.

“So I took one.”

The resulting picture, in which a foregrounded Solano beams in front of his wife Sarah, obviously in the throes of labor pains, quickly racked up three million views on Imgur, mostly from husbands who recommended that he quickly delete the picture, or move somewhere far, far away. (Their daughter Eva was born a few minutes later, happy and healthy.)

But everything’s fine, Solano reported to Buzzfeed. “My favorite response was Sarah’s response to me reading her the comments of everyone saying, She’s going to kill you,'” he said. “She thinks it’s hilarious that people would expect her to respond like that when she thinks the picture itself is so funny.”

“I had been pushing for a few hours and Gil showed it to me to help take my mind off of things and make me laugh,” she said. “I thought it was hilarious and told him he should send it to some of our friends.”

So Solano’s not exiled to some distant island any time soon, which is nice, because he’s got a newborn daughter to tend to.
