The track is the second single off the reggae fusion band's forthcoming LP, Primary Colours
MAGIC! have an infectious new single, and they’re as charming as ever.
The reggae fusion band – who broke out in 2014 with their No. 1 hit “Rude” – released “Red Dress” on Friday, and PEOPLE has an exclusive first look at its music video, which celebrates women of all shapes, colors and sizes.
Indeed, the clip opens with the words, “What is important in a dress is the woman who is wearing it,” before frontman Nasri and the crew launch into the sexy summer single about a woman who takes her sweet time getting ready for a date – and all her suitor can think about is getting her undressed.
“We wanted people to see themselves in the video and not just the standard ‘video girl,'” Nasri told PEOPLE of the music video. “Beauty comes in all shapes and sizes, and the women in our video reflect that. We can’t wait to see our fans in their red dresses at our shows getting down!”
Like breakout “Rude,” “Red Dress” features a breezy island vibe, earworm hook and singalong chorus.
“Red Dress” is the second single off the Canadian quartet’s forthcoming second LP, Primary Colours, due July 1.
