Celebrity Madonna Takes to Instagram During Contentious Custody Battle with Guy Ritchie: You Can 'Be an Entertainer and a Good Mother!' "Too bad we don't live in a society where many encourage strong independent single working moms!" she wrote in the caption By Adam Carlson Published on January 9, 2016 03:50 PM Share Tweet Pin Email Photo: Source: Madonna/Instagram Being a good entertainer doesn’t make Madonna a bad mother. That was the apparent message of an Instagram post the singer made Saturday, amid an ongoing – and contentious – international custody battle over her teenage son with ex-husband Guy Ritchie. “Its possible to be an entertainer and a good mother!!!” Madge captioned a throwback photo of her with all of her kids. “Too bad we don’t live in a society where many encourage strong independent single working moms! The next great Frontier!” She ended the post with a pair of hearts and hashtags: “#revolutionoflove continues #rebelheart4ever.” The post appears to reference Madonna’s ongoing conflict over the 15-year-old Rocco, who has reportedly refused to return to the United States, despite a judge’s order. She has recently taken to Instagram multiple times to post about her children. The situation erupted in December when Rocco, who had traveled with his mom on her Rebel Heart tour before heading to London to be with his father, did not come back to the U.S. “He should have been home already,” a source close to the singer recently told PEOPLE, alleging that Rocco has missed some school. “A big priority is her children’s education.” “This is far beyond a situation about Rocco – it’s about a situation between Madonna and Guy,” a friend of the former couple recently told PEOPLE of their squabble over their 15-year-old son. “They don’t have a good relationship; it’s more of a power fight between them and if he can one-up her. This is the best way he can do it.” Madonna, 57, and Ritchie, 47, ended their seven-year marriage in 2008, following a contentious divorce. A second custody hearing is set for Feb. 3 in New York City.
