Madonna's Cape Now Has a Twitter Account (and She's Okay, Too)
The diva took a tumble while performing her new song – and quickly became a trending topic
Well, that’s one way to break the Internet.
Madonna took a nasty spill Wednesday night while closing out the Brit Awards in London with her new hit “Living for Love.” The blame falls squarely on her risky fashion choice: Her flowing, matador-style cape pulled the Material Girl backward during the number. Madonna sprang right back to her feet, and the show went on.
Thankfully, the 56-year-old pop icon took to Instagram shortly after the accident to assure everyone that she’s safe.
“Armani hooked me up! My beautiful cape was tied too tight!” she explained. “But nothing can stop me and love really lifted me up! Thanks for your good wishes! I’m fine!”
Despite the wardrobe malfunction, Madge should be counting her lucky stars: She’s trending on Twitter as fans wish her well – and poke lighthearted fun at the meme-worthy moment.
Her cape even has its own Twitter account with nearly 5,000 followers.
