Madonna Brings Daughter Mercy James Onstage During Her Tour to Celebrate Her 10th Birthday
Though Mercy's public appearances with her mom are rare, they are usually pretty cool
Now this is how you celebrate a birthday.
Madonna brought daughter Mercy James – who just turned 10 – onstage during her Rebel Heart tour in Miami on Saturday night, and presented her with a cupcake and candle in front of the giant crowd.
“Make a Wish Mercy James,” the proud mom captioned an Instagram post of the moment, along with a string of celebratory emoji.
Madonna, 57, posted another joyful Instagram post earlier this week, celebrating Mercy’s big day:
“Happy Birthday to my Beautiful Mercy James!” she captioned a photo of the two of them together with big smiles.
Madonna Surprises Fans With an Intimate Street Performance
Mercy, who Madonna adopted from Malawi in 2009, is one of the pop icon’s four children, along with Lourdes Leon, Rocco Ritchie and David Banda.
It’s been a rough few weeks for the singer, who is currently locked in an international custody battle with her ex-husband Guy Ritchie over their son Rocco. On Saturday, she thanked fans for a letter they sent her in the midst of the legal battle, saying “one word of kindness, it can save me.”
