Madonna and Son Rocco Reunite for Charity Trip to Africa
Madonna shares sweet Instagram of son Rocco during charity trip to Malawi
Soon after a happy family reunion in London, the pop star has taken all of her children on a trip to Africa in an effort to raise awareness for charity. The group paid a visit to some of the most impoverished areas on the continent as part of Shining Hope For Communities, an organization that provides clean water and free healthcare to all-girls schools.
Their travels took them to Kibera, Kenya, where she shared a photo of a badly polluted river. “Imagine this is where your water comes from!” she captured the shocking shot. “@shofco is working to change this in Kibera, Africa’s largest slum.(sic)”
In other photos, the 57-year-old posed with her brood – Lourdes, 19, Rocco, 15, David, 10, and Mercy, also 10 – alongside local residents. She speaks of one widow, a mother of 14, who lives in a 10×10 dwelling. “Sitting with Mama Sofie, We are Humbled![sic]),” she wrote.
Their journey also took them to Malawi, birth country of son David and daughter Mercy. She shared a cute shot of Rocco holding hands with kids at the Home of Hope, a local children’s mission in the city of Mchinji.
The trip is just another indication that Madonna and Rocco have mended their relationship following months of acrimony and legal proceedings on both sides of the Atlantic.
In June the teen returned to his mother’s Manhattan home for the first time since late 2015, when he opted to stay with dad Guy Ritchie in England.
