What a time to be alive.

One Direction‘s new album, Made in the A.M., and Justin Bieber‘s, Purpose, were both released on Friday morning – and fans of both acts are, well, losing it.

Directioners and Beliebers are two of the most devoted, obsessive and social-media-savvy fan bases. Both #MadeInTheAm and #Purpose are trending on Twitter.

But who’s trending harder? Let’s do a deep-dive.

Directioners are getting super emotional and sentimental – and got the meme game on point. //storify.com/peoplemag/directioners-and-beliebers-go-head-to-head.js?header=none&border=false

Beliebers are really, really feeling Purpose – though we notice a touch less franticness/hysteria. (But, damn, they’re emotional about it.)//storify.com/peoplemag/beliebers-purpose.js?header=none&border=false

At the end of the day, we shouldn’t be pitting these talented, stand-up young men against each other. There is no winner, no loser. There is just the love of music.

But that’s not to say we don’t appreciate a good rivalry.
