They grow up so fast. Just five years ago, Jon Hamm was a beardless, suit-wearing guy from oh, we’re talking about his costar Kiernan Shipka? Whoops!

The onscreen father-daughter pair posed for a cute pic Wednesday night at the Mad Men Black & Red Ball at the Music Center’s Dorothy Chandler Pavilion in Los Angeles, in celebration of the show’s final episodes. And it got us thinking back to Shipka’s first premiere – season 4 in 2010, to be exact – when she and her pops struck the exact same adorable pose. She was 10 there (he 39), with lots of fashion, filming and fun ahead of her.

Speaking to reporters Wednesday night, Shipka called her run on Mad Men “a really incredible journey. It’s a real treat to see characters grow over time.”

The cast’s final day of filming was “super emotional,” she added, “because it was a large portion of my life that I felt like was slowly coming to an end. It was this chapter closing. It definitely felt like the first step of that, very bittersweet. But also really, really celebratory that we got to do this crazy, amazing thing.”

Added Hamm, “I’m excited that people are finally going to see [the last episodes]. We had the chance to finish it the way we wanted, and that’s pretty cool, right?”

The final seven episodes of Mad Men begin airing Sunday night, April 5, on AMC.
