Actor Macaulay Culkin was arrested during a traffic stop in Oklahoma City late Friday afternoon for possession of marijuana and possession of a controlled substance without a prescription, according to news reports.
Culkin, 24, best known for starring in the Home Alone movies as a child actor, was a passenger in a car being driven by 22-year-old Brett M. Tabisel of New York City, CNN reported. The driver was pulled over for speeding, and he allowed police to search the car. Police confiscated about 17 grams of marijuana, eight Xanax pills and 16 pills police identified as a drug prescribed for anxiety and seizures. Culkin reportedly told police he didn’t have a prescription for the medications.
Culkin, who also lives in New York, posted $4,000 bail right away and is no longer in custody, Sgt. Gary Furrer at the Oklahoma County Sheriff’s department confirmed to PEOPLE. It wasn’t immediately clear why the Saved! star was in Oklahoma.
“He’s gone,” Furrer said. “He wasn’t here for long.”
Culkin’s publicist, Michelle Bega, declined to comment, according to reports.
