Lolo Jones is not backing down after recently bashing Fifty Shades of Grey on Twitter. The Olympic athlete told her fans to skip the film due to it’s hyper-sexual nature.

“I get backlash on every Tweet I do,” Jones told PEOPLE at the Gold Meets Golden event to benefit the Special Olympics in Los Angeles on Saturday. “If you really are influenced by the opinions of Twitter, then it’ll break you down. But not me. You got to stand firm in your beliefs and know what you’re standing for.”

Jones, 32, an outspoken Christian, took to Twitter last Tuesday to share her thoughts on the film based on the extremely popular erotic book series.

“Funny how some people think there’s nothing wrong with Fifty Shades of Grey,” she wrote. “God didn’t create sex for that purpose. Watch another movie.”

Critics immediately responded to Jones, questioning her opinion due to the fact that she is a virgin, but their comments aren’t bothering the athlete.

“I’m not changing my thoughts,” said Jones. “I’m standing firm.”

Though Jones hasn’t even seen the film, she believes the movie’s sadomasochistic version of love is misleading and harmful.

“The movie tries to portray a love story, but it’s more of an abusive story” she added. “That’s not how I imagine love.”

But Jones is on the lookout for love.

“I’m a very honest and blunt person,” Jones said. “I wish I could meet an honest upfront guy who is firm in his beliefs and undeterred. But, I just haven’t found that guy yet.”
