Liza Minnelli collapsed during a performance in Stockholm, Sweden, on Wednesday and was hospitalized before being flown back to the U.S. on Thursday morning.

Minnelli, 61, made it a few songs into a Christmas show but could not continue, Reuters reports. “It was a terrible situation,” said local promoter Michael Silfverskiold. “She fell off the side of the stage. The production manager caught her.”

It was unclear what caused the collapse. “You could see she was in pain,” Silfverskiold said.

Minnelli was taken to the hospital, where she was discharged Thursday morning and flown back to the U.S., Silfverskiold said. There was no further word on her medical condition.

Minnelli, the daughter of Judy Garland and the Oscar-winning director Vincente Minnelli (Gigi), won her own Oscar as Best Actress for her role as the self-destructive singer in 1972’s Cabaret.
