Authorities on Thursday appeared close to ruling out the possibility of a third gunman in the Columbine High School massacre, in which two teenagers killed 13 people before taking their own lives. “At this point we are still exploring the possibility of a third shooter. But we do not have a suspect in mind, and none of the physical evidence points definitely to a third person,” Jefferson County Sheriff’s spokeswoman Jennifer Watson told the press. Investigators followed hundreds of leads and interviewed nearly 1,000 people — including dozens of students — to try to determine if anyone helped Eric Harris, 18, and Dylan Klebold, 17, carry out their bloody rampage on April 20.
