Hot dogs arranged into a smiley shape was the breaking point, apparently

The downside of anthropomorphizing your kids’ food? They may refuse to eat it out of principle.

At least that was the case with this little boy, whose dinner was just too, too cute to eat, as he says repeatedly, mid-tears in the video above, from America’s Funniest Home Videos.

“You never make something like this for me,” he says by way of explanation. (The too-cute dinner in question appears to be cut-up hot dogs in the shape of a smiley face.)

Look, kid, it’s a hard world out there, and you’re gonna have to get used to eating cute things at some point – otherwise, you’re not gonna be able to handle finding out where the hot dogs came from in the first place!
