The country singer wed Nashville wardrobe stylist Rebecca Arthur

Singer-guitarist Phillip Sweet, of the country band Little Big Town, married Rebecca Arthur earlier this week.

Sweet, 33, and Arthur, a Nashville wardrobe stylist, exchanged vows at Cedarvine Manor, a bed and breakfast in Lebanon, Tenn., just outside Nashville, his rep said in a statement.

“Because neither of us wanted to be in a serious relationship, we tried to avoid each other for a long time,” Sweet said in the statement. “But once we got together, we were inseparable. Sometimes I feel like we are five years old and each other’s best friend.”

Among those attending the intimate gathering were bandmates Karen Fairchild and Jimi Westbrook – who married in May 2006 – and Kimberly Roads, who wed Stephen Schlapman in November and is expecting her first child.

On March 12, the Grammy-nominated band’s 2006 album The Road to Here reached the million sales mark and was certified platinum.

The newlyweds plan to reside in Nashville, Sweet’s rep says.
