In a candid interview with Rolling Stone, John criticized Jackson for lip syncing during her ongoing world tour
Never one to hold his tongue, Elton John is back to speaking his mind.
In a recent interview with Rolling Stone, the singer recalled his years-old feud with Madonna, which was sparked when John targeted the singer for lip-syncing in concert. Now, the music legend is calling out Janet Jackson on the same topic .
“I say what I feel. I probably went too far with Madonna, and I got very personal and I wrote her – she was very gracious,” John, 68, told the magazine, but that wasn’t all he had to say on the matter of lip-syncing.
“You know, f—ing music magazines writing a review of Janet Jackson saying, ‘This is the greatest show – four and a half stars’,” he continued. “If it’s f—ing lip-synced! Hello! That’s not a show! I’d rather go and see a drag queen. F— off.”
Jackson, 49, is currently on her Unbreakable World Tour, after releasing her 11th studio album.
Aside from his distaste for lip-syncing, John told the glossy that right now, he’s the happiest he’s ever been, despite an ongoing feud with his 90-year-old-mother, and his recent album being rejected by his record label.
“This is a happy album,” he added. “Because I’ve never been happier.”
