Lindsey Vonn and Tiger Woods split in May 2015
“I still love him. He’s a great guy and he’s a great father. I have the utmost respect for him,” she said. “I just wish him the best. We’re friends. We’re just two adults that – it didn’t work out.”
This isn’t the first time the Olympic gold medalist has expressed her warm feelings for the 40-year-old professional golfer. During a November interview with CNN‘s Alpine Edge, Vonn said she has no regrets about their relationship.

“I mean, I loved him and I still love him,” she said then. “I had an amazing three years with him, but, you know, sometimes things just don’t work out and unfortunately it didn’t work out for us.”
Vonn initially shared the breakup news on Facebook in May of last year, writing that she and Woods “will always cherish the memories that we’ve created together.”
“Unfortunately, we both lead incredibly hectic lives that force us to spend a majority of our time apart,” she wrote in the post.
Rumors swirled that Woods may have cheated on Vonn during their relationship, but a source told PEOPLE last year that infidelity wasn’t an issue.
“I know everyone is hoping for a cheating scandal, but it’s not,” a source close to Woods said. “There was no real drama.”
