Lindsay Lohan is gearing up for an indie film role opposite Jared Leto. The pair will star in Chapter 27, a movie about the 1980 murder of former Beatle John Lennon, reports Variety.

Lohan’s role will be that of a Lennon fan who befriends the musician’s murderer, Mark David Chapman (Leto), during the weekend that he kills the legend outside his New York apartment building.

This won’t be Lohan’s only movie project about an assassination. She’s signed to appear in Bobby, Emilio Estevez’s project about the 1968 murder of presidential candidate Robert Kennedy.

Not that the 19-year-old actress has put comedy behind her. In March, her new romance, Just My Luck, is scheduled for release. She costars with Chris Pine, the dreamy-eyed viscount in last year’s The Princess Diaries 2: Royal Engagement.
