Lil Wayne's Tour Bus Shot at in Atlanta: Cops
No injuries were reported, police said
Atlanta police tell PEOPLE that Lil Wayne‘s tour buses were shot at by two vehicles early Sunday.
Police were called to the Mandarin Oriental hotel at about 3:30 a.m., a spokesperson tells PEOPLE in a statement, where officers found two tour buses that had been shot “multiples times.”
Wayne, 32, was traveling on one of them, Atlanta police were told, but no injuries were reported.
The buses were fired at as they traveled eastbound on interstate 285 at its intersection with interstate 75, outside the city, Cobb County Police Sgt. Dana Pierce tells PEOPLE. About a dozen people were on board the two buses, he says.
Witnesses provided a limited description of the shooters’ vehicles, Atlanta police said: “two white vehicles, possibly a Corvette style vehicle and an SUV.”
Wayne had performed at a nightclub in the city on Saturday night, according to The Atlanta Journal-Constitution.
There are no known suspects at this time, Pierce says, and little information has been provided Cobb police about the circumstances leading up to the shooting.
Both Atlanta and Cobb County police will continue investigating, Pierce says.
Calls to Lil Wayne’s reps were not immediately returned.
