Lil Wayne is in stable condition after his private plane was forced to make two emergency landings Monday afternoon when the rapper suffered multiple seizures mid-flight, his rep confirms to PEOPLE.

According to TMZ, Wayne was flying from Milwaukee to California when the first seizure happened. Wayne reportedly blacked out as the pilot performed the emergency landing in Omaha, Nebraska.

Paramedics met the plane when it landed but the rapper, who regained consciousness, allegedly refused medical treatment. Shortly after taking off again, Wayne suffered another seizure and the plane was forced to make another emergency landing, according to TMZ.

“He did experience two minor seizures yesterday. Under the guidance of his doctors, he is now in stable condition and good spirits,” says the rapper’s rep. “He thanks his fans for their everlasting support, prayers and well wishes.”

Wayne is epileptic and has had multiple seizures throughout his life. He previously blamed the attacks on his rigorous work schedule.

“I’m an epileptic, so I’m prone to seizures,” Wayne, 33, told Los Angeles radio station Power 106 after a particularly severe attack back in 2013. “”This isn’t my first, second, third, fourth, fifth, sixth, seventh seizure. I’ve had a bunch of seizures. Y’all just never hear about it. It got real bad because I got three [seizures] in a row, and on the third one my heart rate went down to, like, 30 percent,” he said. “Basically, I could’ve died soon. That’s why it was so serious.”
