Some seven months after announcing their engagement, Miley Cyrus and Liam Hemsworth are married, the bride herself has announced.

Explaining that she’s happy “I don’t have to date anymore,” because guys can play dirty tricks on girls, Cyrus tells Cosmopolitan, “I was like, ‘I’m so happy I’m married, because you guys are cruel!’ ”

As for the sort of wedding she’d have, cyrus told the magazine it wouldn’t be a big one: “I can’t even get coffee without a million paparazzi following me, so I don’t know why anyone think I’m going to have this huge, extravagant wedding. That is so not who I am.”

Australian actor Hemsworth, 23, and the 20-year-old singer-songwriter – and former Hannah Montana star – first met in 2009, when they costarred in The Last Song.

He proposed on May 31, 2012, with a 3.5-carat diamond ring from jeweler Neil Lane.

At the time of their engagement, Cyrus said: “Life is too short not to be with the person you want to be with. I don’t really care about the wedding or the piece of paper as much as I do the promise we’ve made to each other. And we want to have a long engagement.”

Last week, the two were seen cuddling in Costa Rica on the beach. Jan. 13 had been Hemworth’s birthday.

Cyrus has recently been in the studio recording new music, while Hemsworth is filming Paranoia and The Hunger Games: Catching Fire.
