Liam Hemsworth, welcome to Twitter!

The Hunger Games actor, 23, joined the microblogging service Wednesday, sent out his first two Tweets (a quick hello, plus a promotional note from “Team Liam”) and began following 13 people – and yes, fiancée Miley Cyrus is among them.

The move seems to indicate a change of heart for the Australian actor, who hasn’t always been a big fan of celebrities using Twitter.

In October 2009, Cyrus, then just 16, famously quit Twitter and said Hemsworth – her rumored love interest at the time – convinced her to do so. “FYI Liam doesn’t have a Twitter and he wants ME to delete mine with good reason,” she Tweeted.

She even rapped about it at the time, saying she wanted to keep her private life private, though she did reactivate her account a year and a half later.

Hemsworth’s promotional Tweet would seem to suggest he’s planning to use the account – which already has more than 50,000 followers – at least partly for PR purposes.

But the group of people he’s following does reveal some personal interests. Among them: surfer Kelly Slater, the Zac Brown Band, Pink Floyd and the late Jeff Buckley.
